They went to the Kakuma Refugee camp for safety reasons, war, famine, religious persecution. The camp is located in the desert, hundreds of miles from the nearest city, is a place no one chooses to live, where very few people visit, where it is difficult to leave.  Suad and Abdikarim Mohammed, sister and brother will share stories of the difficulties of growing up as refugees in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya Africa.  They will discuss how living in a harsh environment makes one lose hope and how their lives changed forever as students of Jesuit Worldwide Learning.  Higher education brings renewed hope and helps people realize their self-worth.  Jesuit Worldwide Learning Higher Education at the Margins is changing lives by providing tertiary education to those who need it the most.

Rev. William J. Byron, S.J. (St. Joseph University), “Where will the Society of Jesus be in 2050?”
